Seasoned homeschooler Homeschool Association of California Board Member, Jamie Heston, shares valuable insights and inspiration to those who are considering or has just started homeschooling. She give an overview about homeschooling and how to be flexible and not to try so hard to just replicate school inside the home with methods, tips, tricks, and ideas what homeschooling might look like. She also talks about how can kids can stay motivated to learn beyond the desk and following a strict curriculum while they are at home. Jamie Heston is a 12-year homeschooling veteran of two teens and a 10-year volunteer for the Homeschool Association of CA (HSC.org) and became a frequent speaker at the annual conference (hscconference.com). In September of 2018, she joined HSC's Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer until October of 2020. She is a long-time moderator for her local gifted homeschool group, hosts regular nerf battles in the Bay Area at www.eastbayareanerf.com and www.ragnarocktoberfest.com, and hosts monthly teen parties and mom's nights out for local homeschool families.
