Hello, my name is Danielle Brunson. I’m an Atlanta based mindfulness, meditation and yoga teacher. I’ve spent the past 15 years working with children in a variety of settings. I began my career in education as a face to face elementary teacher in the United States and overseas, I then moved into virtual public education. Wanting to do more, I became a school leader and started and headed up 2 statewide charters before coaching and guiding other school leaders to do the same work.
During my time as a school leader and coach I saw a lack of focus on kids’ social emotional needs being addressed over and over again. Academics were the focus of the schools I worked with but there seemed to be a big disconnect between the knowledge that all educators have, without a strong SEL program, kids won’t learn.
When I left the traditional education system to teach kids and adults meditation, mindfulness and yoga I found my true passion for work. As co-creator of The Namaste Project I am passionate about using my skills as a teacher leader and trainer in combination with my skills as a yoga and elementary teacher to bring yoga and mindfulness to as many students and adults who work with them as possible. My goal is to provide teachers with things they can apply IMMEDIATELY and EASILY in their classrooms and see results right away. I am passionate about ensuring teachers themselves have tools in their box to manage their own stress and workload.
I live in Atlanta with my husband who is also in education. My most important job with children is Mother to two wonderful elementary aged kids who I meditate with daily.
